dont use the slider... use the WB pipette... select a section of his gloves! it'll give you perfect WB! then play with the tones, to get the skin tones correct... and finally stick it in PS or LR... adjust the shadows and highlights, and you're in biz! ;)
I will try that. Thank you.
and thank you, Lisa and kathy for your words of encouragement. But I need lots of help.

I have just started using LR...
For some reason most of the 'presets' (greyscale, sepia ect...) always blow the photo way out by adding fill light, brightness ect...weird. I have tried reseting to default settings and noting better...what's happening!?

I checked the curve and it's thrown way out. I manually set all (brightness, exposure, contrast...about 6 or 7 of them) back to 0 and the shot looks fine. I decided to just then create my own preset based on the actions of reverting all back to 0 and that worked, just a pain in the ass to have to do that. and weird that the 'preset' is not usable at all...if I save my version of the preset I can always use it so in the future that will save time instead of always manually bumping the setting back to 0 for every single shot!
thanks guys, back to work...

Ladies, gentlemen: good afternoon!
I just finished a two-day career-fair/interview process for a "real" job... Phew! That was exhausting! Once I get a job though, my photography business will likely suffer for it :( Depending on how things will be, I'm actually considering closing down, as I'll have to finish my Ph.D. part-time. That won't give me much time for the business.

Thanks Archiekins!
Well, it's not that bad really. I knew that it would very likely not be something that I would continue for ever (quite a few companies in my field are requiring their employees to do a bit of overtime), but I just hoped it would last a bit longer. I'll wait to shut everything down and I'll probably take 4 or 5 weddings next year, but not more than that. I'll see how it goes and make up my mind from there!
