One crow for sorrow
Two crows for joy
Three crows for a girl
Four for a boy
Five crows for silver
Six crows for gold
seven crows for a secret never to be told.
Love it ^
So I take it you have the opportunity to shoot crows in your area?
I'm in the midst of developing a trademark shot, unfortunately, i've already been in 2 situations where it wasn't possible, so i'm having to create a selection of trademarks to fit my style :)
As for the Business Card, what are you printing them on? Is it going to a printers? doing it yourself? Type of card? I received a fantastic card design from a DJ company not too long ago, with their business name and logo, etched onto transparent flexible plastic... definitely made me check out their site... which unfortunately, wasn't quite as good as the card, lol...

We have that one but about Magpies
That's right >
One for sorrow, two for mirth,
Three for a wedding, four for a birth,
Five for silver, six for gold,
Seven for a secret not to be told.
Eight for heaven, nine for hell,
And ten for the devil's own sel'.

That would be an awesome idea. I wonder if there is anyone around that can print them out like that? Then again most have templates you have to follow, name here, number here, etc etc. Also, would the ink scratch off eventually, I know my drivers license has some fading and I dont even take it out of the sleeve its in?

The etching doesn't come off, it's not actually printed ON the card, it is engraved into the plastic... almost slightly embossed, and then filled with black ink... The idea really is fantastic and definitely a "wow factor".

Yeah that would be perfect for my design, give it that film reel look.
Do you know where they got them printed at? Or maybe a site that can do it?

Welcome and thanks for visiting the site!
My name is Bryan Caporicci. I founded Memories in Motion Sports Photography after having discovered my passion and love for the art, and my knack for dealing with people. The MIM team has since been providing sports photography services to the Niagara Region.
After getting involved with portraiture and wedding photography, I discovered a love for photographing people. The art of uniquely interpreting and capturing emotions, character and love lead me to full time wedding and portrait photography.
I am truly blessed, having the opportunity to connect with some of the greatest people. As a photographer, it is extremely important for me that I develop a strong connection and an open relationship with my clients. It not only allows for better photographs, but, I like to walk away from every photo shoot, excited, knowing that my new friends are going to be ecstatic with their photos.
It's incredible how such a timeless artform is able to draw an emotion from each viewer. It is this emotion that I long for in my photographs.
What do you guys think?

Not much...you kept it simple and quick which is great. There are two things that jump out at me.
and my knack for dealing with people. This makes it seem like you are a con-artist of sorts. I think you can reword it differently.
I am truly blessed, having the opportunity to connect with some of the greatest people. As a photographer, it is extremely important for me that I develop a strong connection and an open relationship with my clients.
I think you should say it's extremely important for you to connect first and then say you've met some fantastic people by doing this. Use the connection first then say you've made it second. Leave the open relationship thing out, you aren't a swinger...unless you are.

I had a few last night, and probably will tonight. Today I have to run and get the beer for the meet and take a picture of a job site for a website I'm developing. Then I have to go to the supermarket and get the supplies for Kirsten to make cookies for the meet. Then beer!

no possibililty of using a PNG with alpha colour, and changing the background of the entire page... then that would filter through the alpha colour (transparent bit) of the BC logo?

That's a damn good idea. But the background behind the logo is always white - it doesn't change with the color of the page, just the lower part does.

erm, what about putting the PNG logo in a <div> layer that contains a table, where the table background changes with the scheme of the lower half of the page...?

Why not call them, have a quick chat to prequalify them, then have them come and see you? It's far easier for a customer to ignore or forget someone who sent them some information compared with meeting someone, seeing a presentation, seeing albums, etc.

Hiya Seb, what's up?
Not much, just chatting with you. There is no better way to spend an evening
Oh you!
And you?
Working on some simulations... They do take from 15 minutes to an hour... A bit slow and the bad thing is that they contradict the theory that I've developed so far... So it's back to the drawing board!
That's too bad...
Yeah, really. I thought I had figured a big part out, and I was getting ready to move on to the last big chunk of this problem... If I would've been successful, it would have been quite a significant contribution to science... well to electrical engineering... well to photonics, well to fiber Bragg gratings... well to superstructured fiber Bragg gratings... Oh yeah!
Well, I gotta go! One simulation's finally done!
Talk to you later!
Later!

Well, the weather's not all that bad... gives a break to reorganize the business, get wedding inquiries, sending off lens for calibration/repair (like my 17-55 )... so it's all good!

Why not call them, have a quick chat to prequalify them, then have them come and see you? It's far easier for a customer to ignore or forget someone who sent them some information compared with meeting someone, seeing a presentation, seeing albums, etc.
You're assuming I live in an urban area where my brides are all in close radius ... nope ... these inquiries were from 45 minutes and four hours away. I'm rural, baby ... I do follow up with a phone call after a week or so. I also send a CD slideshow of my work in the packet, so they can have a look that way.
Way to go, Jenn!

Okay guys, i'm totally scared! PLEASE HELP...
I've received my first "official" Church wedding enquiry!!! Ahhhh! I'm an asian events photographer, so have very little to no experience how to handle it. I'm totally excited, but at the same time very scared... It's not till end of May 2008, but I plan to meet with the clients in the next fortnight, to hear out their requirements... any tips for the first client meet? What to say, what to wear? Where to meet? I dont even have a hardback portfolio :( gosh i'm totally nervous...

dress smart casual, you'll be shooting in low light, have you shot in low light before? you need to find in the officiant will allow photography during the event? what about flash?
Niraj
2nd of November 2007 (Fri), 05:24
:) smart casual sounds good :) should i organise the meeting or let the client decide... for example, best i can think is a coffee shop or a bar in the afternoon something like that?
I've shot in lowlight, but never in a church, other than the Basillica's in Italy (as a tourist).
I may bite the bullet and get my hands on some faster glass by then, hopefully an IS L. 24-105 seems extremely attractive...

I'm just home from a wedding, download cards. Today I did my 24th wedding this year - though I might've archived a few so that might be a bit low. i've never met clients at their home before. asian couple tend not to live together, nor do they have the opportunity to meet under the roof of the their partners home in situations like this...
if it is to be the clients home, then i will let them make that decision... sounds good to me though, they live local (ish) maybe tops 20 miles away.
