I own a G2 and am in school for animation. I am going to model a 3D version of my camera for a short film. It would greatly help if I had blueprints to this camera, so does anyone know where I can obtain them easily?

I doubt you'll ever see the blueprints---I'm sure they're locked away in Canon's vaults along with all their other proprietery design information. You might find a cutaway drawing. Also, a repair manual might be helpful.

Try this http://www.f20c.com/stuff/canon/partslist/POWER%20SHOT%20G2.PDF

Not a blueprint but may help...

Seeing as the drawings appear to be vector based there shouldnt be a problem (loss of quality) enlarging them to make them easier to work with.

Wow! Sidebp, you saved me!!! I'm actually animating how it works and am building the insides of the camera as well. I definitely needed this!! I found some dimensional exterior images as well. Thank you so much!

No worries... in fact a few more in the range (inluding some other G2 bits, G3 etc.) can be found here:

Might be worth saving a copy in case the site disapears into the Internet Blackhole!!

This was posted earlier in the week so credit is due to whoever posted it before me!

Dont forget to let us know how it all works out!! :D

Hi Thoe,
I don't know what you seek exactly, but perhaps this will be
useful for you.

Thanx everyone! All of this will greatly help! I'll post a video of the animation in 7 weeks, hehe, when it's done.
