Hi All,
Just read Phil Askey's review of the D100. As usual, a Nikon camera has serious flaws.
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond100/
To quote Phil:
1) JPEG files not tagged with correct colour profile when color mode II selected.
2) Internal / external D-TTL flash metering problem
3) Higher noise levels from images converted from RAW through Nikon Capture 3
4) Lacking in-camera sharpening leads to 'soft' looking images (to keep noise down?)
Unquote
It is sad that Nikon has such user-friendly cameras, but consistently make bad (tactical trade-off) decisions in image quality. Some of these problems can be corrected by firmware upgrades. But, I am appalled at the poor quality of RAW capture and storage.
In comparison, Canon seems to make better strategic decisions. Opinions?
Still, the Nikon D100 will sell because of the Nikon customer base and its features do not completely overlap with the Canon D60's.
