The pictures are excellent, buy mostly I envy the fact that you were there to take them.

I love the tour de France - but I get exhausted just watching it!

Nice shots.

Hi Pete,

It's your lucky day, this is my very first reply to anyone's post. 8)
I think they are all great, your obviously very talented. I really like #1 and #3. Although in #3, the guy with the helmet just creeping into the pic is a little ditsracting for me. Hardly something major though (looks more like bad luck?).
I'm only just starting out (first posting with the Rio pics - any feedback on them??) so don't think I'm any expert here. (as you'll see with my contribution)
#4 looks like it could almost be a brochure or programme cover, looks really pro.
Cheers,
Craig.

Pete,

Photo #3. Like Craig observed, the guy on the motorcycle in the background is distracting. Maybe just bad luck and unavoidable. :(

I wish I could have been there taking photographs of the Tour de France. What a great opportunity. :)

Yeah they seem a little soft to me too. Which camera and lens did You use?

If it wasn't for the big copyright I like the last one most. For some reason I think its' ok that the cyclist is blurred on that one too

Here's my attempt at cycling. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=39535&highlight=)

Yea, my equipment did let me down a lot.

I was using an EOS 50 with a cheap Tamron 28-50 f3.5 lense and a Canon 170-300 f5.4 USM. I was rushing the shots due to a poor location and had to snap the riders in between trees and policemen with a relatively low shutter speed lol

Fortunately, when I visit the US in November, I'll be picking up a 10D and a Canon 70-200 F2.8L USM lense :D However, I'll still be stuck with my cheap kit for the meantime.

Also, I'm getting a press pass so I can get into the best spots for the forthcoming Tour of Britain - hopefully I'll come away with some decent shots as I am borrowing a Sigma 400mm lense.
