That about says it...lol. He was singing which got my attention, then I got this shot. Taken this past weekend, morning light.

Cute little guy Karen. Looks like a Song Sparrow, but I'm probably wrong. :)

Yes, there were some twig shadows across his face.

Great shot! This does look like a Song Sparrow, but its lacking the dark central spot in its chest, which idenitfies the Song Sparrow. Coupled with the sharper bill, different head and body patterns, this bird is a Lincoln's Sparrow.

Wow-a new lifer for me! I just can't tell a lot of the sparrows apart! Thanks for the ID!

I'll have to take a closer look at some of mine again. I have seen some without the stickpin and thought they were just juvies. :)

I considered cloning out the whitish branch to the bird's left but there's a lot of color variation there and I'd probably mess it up. :) Thanks, Sindri and Mitch.

Great focus on the face, Karen, despite the twigs! I hate when those little things try to block our way!

Thanks, Tony. This was a really slow day at the Wetlands and there weren't many birds around to take shots, in fact I think this and a few duck shots were all I got that day.
Usually you can find a sparrow or two. I'm just excited it was a new one for me!

How did Lyndon Johnson make the subject line of your picture? I'm so confused... Is this some Lady Bird connection?

I'm not sure who cloned that phrase "Little Brown Job" for the birds you otherwise cannot ID. If it were flowers Lady Bird might be in the storyline though...although the "bird" in her name is deceptive. Anyway, I had no clue which sparrow this was, so it got the tag.
