After checking thru the internet, I think this is a Sharp-shinned Hawk. Please correct me if I am wrong. Anyhow, capturing this guy was not anything close like herons, egrets, or pelicans. He is so fast. All I got time for was held down the shutter button and pray!;) I have walked around the area for almost 2 hours and from nowhere, he only did 2 simi-low flights and that was it...Disappeared! I hope I will run into him again...soon!

These are actually three amazing shots of the male Northern Harrier.

Nice images of a male Northern harrier. It's definitely not a Sharp-shinned or Coopers hawk. Yep, I'd wager farily heavily on it being a male Northern harrier.

Oh...thanks for your correction. I shouldn't say this, but, "They all looked alike!" I am so bad at bird IDs...this is so embarrassing!

Fine shots, very hard to get these fast flyers..I will stick to condors, eagles, and ravens, and maybe some large hawks. The little guys I leave to the experts...steve

I know Steve and I should stick to the large birds too. But, I just couldn't pass up on him...and just got lucky while I was praying! :D

Thank you for your comment!

Beautiful shots.

Very much appreciated Dennis

I was surprised it came out acceptable. It was too fast for me to think about getting good focus. I just kind of "point and shoot". Thank you Dale

It's was kind of strange. Yesterday's walk was kind of hopeless due to the fog was rolling in from the ocean and, the sunlight slowly faded. But for some reason when he decided to show himself, it was at right spot with blue sky background and some light. Talk about being lucky! Thank you

Yes, you can say (lucky) that again! Thank you!

Yes, I agreed! For a fast bird, with that pose, it seemed that he was hanging in the air forever! Thanks for your comment!
