I recently posted a photo on this site which looked fine on my monitor, but one of the comments suggested the image was dark. I sent the image away to be printed, and when I received the hard copy it was disappointingly dark. Is there a way to calibrate my monitor so I get the same brightness on monitor / prints?

How do you calibrate your monitor?

Spend $80 on a calibrator. I have the Spyder2Express and it is fab.

I also have the Spyder2Express. I was surprised at the difference it made. I can't imagine not having a montor calibrated now. I have two XPS notebooks and a Dell 20.

If you ever decide to print your own prints, you'll need to find a paper and printer profile for which own. Your prints will come out great.
