I have a drive-by of Marshalls at Cambridge airport today and spotted these babies, no PP has been done apart from cropping and resize.

Doesn't look like they have them yet..
...and I did not realize they were still building new ones,. truly an airframe that will never die it seems.
Nice shots :)

Unfortunately, the only new built herks are the J models (We do not consider them true Herks though)

haha but you gotta admit those scimitar fan blades are pretty savage lookingLook great... vs ability are two different things :)
They damage easily and that means that the dirt is very bad for them... Among their other faults..
point a to point b airlifting she does wonders... only time will tell.

why would they install scimitar blades if one of the main duties of the herc is to airlift to them dusty places? i suppose they are more efficient?

Thanks for the comments guys i will get the wife to do PPing in PSP on some the pics to see if she can find any tailnumbers for you.
I do know that Marshalls where upgrading a few Hercs so i would think that the unpainted one is one of these.
Seeing as these pics where only taken with a cheap 75-300 EF lens i think its time to upgrade to a 100-400L .

It looks to me as if the Herc shown in its unpainted state has probably been undergoing some maintenance at Marshall's. (My guessis that it may be Swedish) The other Herc is an RAF C Mk3 aircraft, again it would be at Marshall's for maintance or modification.

Truely a great aircraft. I've been blown off my feet by one doing exactly this engine testing while doing a training run around Wigram Air Force Base back in the early 80's. Very embarrising:o
