Well, now, I'll show you a wish-I-were-more-successful moment! This summer I was in the woods near a lake in my area, trudging along looking for birds and such. There were some pretty finches flitting around in the trees and I thought to myself, "Self, you should get pictures of those!" but they kept flitting and never got out into a place where I could get a good, solid shot! So, here's a finch, hiding behind branches and in shadows, and I couldn't even get a model release!

So, hope I'll do better next time!

Well, he is deep in the woods. Some days are just like that.

Nice shots tony. I'd be satisfied to even see one of those.

Good capture Tony, but I think it's some kind of Warbler, don't have the time to look it up right now...steve

Thanks for the compliments! There were a couple of them together, but they were alway on the move, and always keeping deep in the trees and staying away from me!

Nice shots, these are actually a type of warbler, probably Yellow Warbler.

Looks like a yellow warbler to me, definitely not a finch.

Thanks for letting me know! I keep having to update my comments in PBase! I think, though, that I'm pretty sure I know a duck when I see one:)!

Well, you should know that warblers are very difficult to photograph, for all of the reasons you mention in your original post. So you should feel good that you were able to get good enough photos to identify it!

Thanks, Reyno! And, wouldn't you know it, after I posted the updated crops on another thread, these pics were refreshed! No good deed goes unpunished!
