I feel like I'm insane for paying $1400 for an LCD but I somehow convinced myself through research and the fact that I am on my computer A LOT and I need an accurate monitor for my studio work & school.

I'm going from a Dell 2001fp. I'm sure once the Eizo is sitting on my desk I won't regret getting another Dell or Samsung instead.

I still feel like I spent way too much, hahahah.

Any other Eizo users here?

Yup, though it's a lot smaller than yours! I got a great deal on a CG18, when it was being replaced by the CG19, and I've never regretted it for a second :)

Photographer I work for has a CG19 for testing. (Comparing to a LaCie CRT).
Still in the box though due to lack of time...
I'm curious.

glad to see some responses :)

does anyone think I should have went with the ColorEdge CE240W for another $300 or would it just be overkill?

I'm relatively new in the business and I'm not as anal about color as some people are.

I'm about to pick up the Eizo CG241W. I would also love to hear more from other Eizo owners as well. Tips and tricks for setup etc. I didn't really like spending $2,300.00 for a monitor, but after seeing it at PMA, I gotta have it.

have an CE240W - best monitor purchase i've made. Def. need to get a decent calibrator, but that's true with any monitor. I purchased the new spyder 3 case that has both print and monitor calibration for only $499.

For once, i'm not afraid to show clients images on my monitor before processing. My clients are consistently amazed and are willing to pay my extra processing fees because they can see what a difference good consistent color makes. THey couldn't see this on my old apple monitor.

Its already making me extra money and its taken away a lot of headaches (extra ink due to inconsistent prints). You won't be sorry if you purchase an EIZO.

I worked on a CG19 at my recent job. It was a dream - I'm saving up for one at home.

Yeah, I have a Spyder2 Pro calibrator now, but understand from the Eizo rep that I need either the Spyder3 or Eye one to calibrate this baby. I know what you mean about the on-screen quality. After looking at the PMA demo I realized just how bad the images were on my LG and ViewSonic monitors were. I had thought they were very good until seeing the Eizo.
I know they had put up a high quality image for the demo, but the color transitions, sharp edges and depth were the deal maker.

Don't feel too bad, I just dropped about $1,650 on that new Dell 30 inch (3008wfp) which supports full Adobe RGB color Gamut and 117% of NTCS color space. My printer was outperforming my old Dell 24" at 72% NTSC gamut. Blues were especially different on my prints, though usually pleasing surprises, I don't like having a monitor gamut that is inferior to my printer!

It should arrive in about a month, so they say....

I picked up the CG241W yesterday. he local camera store sold it to me for $2,027.00. The bet price I found on the web was $2,252.00. So it was cheaper even after taxes. I just set it up and calibrated it this morning. Amazing.
