Nah. It IS actually smaller. It also uses the pentamirrors instead of the pentamirrors, so it's gonna be dimmer also.

I think you meant pentaprism for the Elan7.

which EOS DSLR uses pentaprism and has similar viewscreen size as Elan7? cuz Im really having a hard time taking action shot with Drebel viewscreen compaird to Elan7 which I think is easier.

All except the 300D... if I'm not mistaken.

Well, best you get used to it because the only way you're going to get the same view in DSLR like that of the Elan is by getting the 1Ds!
...unless, of course, price is no object for you. 8)
Oh, btw, the new Kodak DSLR with the Canon mount will also give you a full-frame viewfinder to go with the full-frame sensor. And that's only around $4500 or so.

Mistaken.... :? The 10D's viewfinder is also much smaller than the Elan 7's. If you want one with a viewfinder just as large as the Elan 7, you have to get a full frame DSLR such as the 1Ds. I've never looked through an 1D or 1D Mk II but since they have an 1.3x crop factor, I guess the size of the viewfinder will be in between the 300D/10D and 1Ds.

The size of the viewfinder presentation is not necessarily linked to the crop factor of the sensor.
Rather, it is mainly determined by Canon's notion of 'pro' (1-digit model numbers) vs 'semi-pro' (2-digit model numbers) vs 'pro-sumer' (3-digit model numbers) vs 'consumer' (4-digit model numbers) bodies.
It's just that for the digital SLRs, the 'professionalism' scale has gone pretty much hand-in-hand with the sensor crop factors, all other things being equal.
In the film-based cameras, though, every model has essentially a 1x 'crop factor' (they are all full-frame based, except the APS models), but the viewfinder presentation varies considerably, according to the 'pro' (or 'non-pro') ranking of the camera.
It is decidedly more expensive to get a bright, 100% viewfinder display, using top-of-the-line pentaprisms, so that technology is reserverd for the more expensive bodies.
It is annoying, though, to pay as much or more for a 'pro-sumer' digital body as one of the pro film bodies, and end up with a viewfinder that was reserved for the under-$200 crowd on the film bodies. Lack of interchangeable screens, and the unavailibility of manual focus aids like split-screen or prismatic collars, is really maddening.
