Calling all Canadians!!! :) Need info

I am trying to plan a fishing / photo trip to a remote area of Canada for 4-6 people next year. We want to fly in to a remote area, fish and take pic's of the country. Any one have favorite spots or fishing camps that supply lodging etc. I know if it is a remote lake it will be rough and that is OK! Even camping is ok. What we don't want to do is spend a home mortgage to do it :D Any suggestion is welcome. Also I would like suggestions as to what lens may be the best to take. I understand that when flying into remote areas we will have severe weight restrictions for gear. I was thinking 10d with 24-85mm or maybe buy a 28-135mm IS and a 2x extender. I don't know as I don't have any knowledge of where we are going yet..

The idea of traveling to a remote part of Canada and not bringing my 100-400 would make me want to stay home.

Will the 2x fit either of those lenses?

I'd be itching for the 17-40 and 100-400 if I could only bring 2. If not the 17-40, then the 24-85 & 100-400.

McCrays lake and the Musquash river In Georgian Bay Lake Huron are great paddling camping areas... but only about 2 hours from Toronto.

Then again there is the "interior" of Newfoundland if you want really remote! But I bet rain and fog aren't on the list for fun things to see....

Jerry, leave the fishing pole at home and use the extended 100-400 for fishing. Just tie the fishing line around the lens and you're all set to go fishing. The added benny of this arrangment is that you can still take lots of pretty landscape and wildlife shots while you're waiting for a bite. Otherwise, based on my fishing experience, it'd really be a long, dull and boring wait. :mrgreen: :lol:

If yer lookin fer them there salamon and funny lookin flat fish. now ifin yous lookin fer real fish, and I meen BASS, den ya cannot beat Nordern Kebec.
Anyway, real salmon live on the East Coast ( Just jokin Conk :!: :!: :!: :lol: :lol: :lol: ) Fished them both and each has it good and bad points. Don't eat em so the taste thing does not apply. :lol:

Love Bass fishing. I grew up on Lake Scugog in Port Perry Ontario. I'm very familiar with the Bass, Pickerel and Muskie fishing. One of the only things I miss about living back there.
