Evening

Went to Brands this morning for day 1 of the BTRA Truck SuperPrix. Started off bright but cold, ended up f2.8 & ISO1250 dark and cold with varying levels of dull and overcastness for most of the day. Here's some pics. I'll do a gallery later.

May as well start with a pan from early on and before the smog got outrageous

I like the last one best out of these but the group shot is a good 'un too.

Looks like you had similar conditions to we did at Croft today Dave. Bright / Cold with random clouds to complicate matters. Substitute your Smog for our Dust from the RallyX track and we're pretty much even.

I hope your hands weren't as cold as ours were, but unlike the Shandy drinking Southerners, we laugh in the face of Winter Oop 'ere ;)

Love the last shot - the others are good too considering the conditions.

Sorry I couldn't make it this weekend. Was really under the weather this morning from last night :p - Will be off to Scotland sometime tomorrow morning. Lonnngggg drive.

Caterham racing doesn't do much for me at the best of times but when it's rank amateurs AND women driving it means it has the potential to be crap. And it was, IMO of course.

The smoke was pretty amusing at times, I've got a few pics that I died laughing at as it's just a mess.

My paws were ok, it wasn't gloves and hat cold. I just had a fleece on all day.

Sunday got really dark for the last truck race, even managed to get through the fence without picking up the highlights... I've batched a load of shots from both days so will get some up from Sunday and post a link to the gallery once I've looked at them.

I thought they might do with a bit more but they seem ok.

No in camera sharpening, just a smidge of USM and VelviaVision in a batch action. Kwality.

I'm going to the Tempest Rally next weekend so will miss the Britcar Night Race.

All great shots Dave but the last one of the ERF on opposite lock is fantastic.

Great shots as always Dave. You have mentioned using VelviaVision during PP. Can you share the settings you typically use with this plugin please?

Yeah, everything standard, just 10% "increase" I suppose you'd call it. Seems to work well. I don't like PPing too much so try to avoid lots of complicated stuff!
