Well, I had a fantastic time! I'd like to thank all of you for your contributions to such a fine event. I've never gotten so many compliments for just being a nag. :-) Special thanks go out to the NY Model connections, woo hoo, what a score. Three beauties. And Suzie, you rock, babe. I'm just happy to lug your bags and drink Mike's beer! Thanks for the revival in my beer interests. I've got to take that list out and get some of that.

Jamie, Jeff and Lloyd, Sincere thanks for your contributions. You gave and gave and gave. Yeah, 3 groups and nothing but great advice and demonstration. Awesome!

Jessica, those shots are amazing. I just got up. Eastern time stinks.

The real success of the meet is the joy we all get from our favorite hobby. We love shooting and for some reason, all worldly concerns were put on hold. Only the fun and creative learning came out this weekend and I want to personally thank each of you for making it so worth my time and money. I know some traveled a long way and that's why it was important to have the meeting. We may have to decide to do 2 meets a year so some new people can come and our groups aren't too big. For some stupid reason, 19 seemed perfect for the first one. Oh, and thanks for letting my sister have the bouquet. She's drying out the roses, as we speak. She's very crafty.

Still some details to iron out:

1. James & Robert, please tell us what we all owe to help pay for the dry cleaning of the dresses.
2. When everyone is finished PP about 20 shots or more for the models, send files or 4 CD's to James or Robert for the models and the bridal store.
3. I will contact the hotel to see if there were any items left.
4. Without sounding too negative, things we did just right, things we could have done better. This one can start when we have a location and time for the next meet, but really, should start as we have these ideas fresh in our minds.

Continue the postings. I'm thoroughly enjoying them.

Welllll........................I was able to get an earlier flight out of NY but got held up by security for 20 minutes because I forgot about a Purell Hand Sanitizer in my purse! Missed the boarding and had to wait another 2 hours for my original scheduled flight.

I landed in Dallas at 11 PM. My best friend picked me up and we started our 3 1/2 hour drive home. At 1:45 AM we hit a deer....or really a deer hit us - on 175 in the middle of no where. Busted radiator and the bumper on the front driver side was pushed back behind the tire. Obviously we were stuck. We finally got cell phone signal and were able to get a tow truck. Nacogdoches was still 75 miles away...The driver quotes what the tow will cost, like we have a choice...but then half way into the trip he says it has to be cash. :(

At 4:30 we make it home. I have pics - of the trip and the car...I'll share later.

I'm thinking we do need to have a West Coast meet. Since it's a wedding forum, I was thinking Las Vegas or in CA somewhere. Hate to make a west vs. east one. Still wondering if we should consider Niagra Falls.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to travel far anytime soon for a meet as I have all of my vacation days allocated to my honeymoon next year. So if it's not within driving distance I doubt it'll happen for me.

I think that, unfortunately, we might never have the same group again at a meet. Depending on where future meets will be held, we will have new groups: new members will be able to make it, but some from this meet might not be able to come for various reasons.

I think that the idea of going West next time wouldn't be a bad idea...We can discuss the location of a future meet, but we won’t be able please everyone at once. Hopefully, if we can average one meet per year, we can have them a bit everywhere in North America (East vs. West, Canada vs. United-States). This way, different members can participate too. Some will travel the extra mile, but those who can’t won’t always have to miss out.

I would love to go West in the Canadian Rockies! (But I am open to suggestions) Although it would mean that Michael and Kristin wouldn’t be able to make it….Unless we follow the newlyweds on their honeymoon! Hehehe! Going to a tropical island sounds like a good idea to me! :) What do you think Mike? ;)
