Does anyone work at Canon? I've been wanting to get into their camera/optics department, after having graduated from an optics/photonics engineering degree, but I can't seem to find any contacts within the company. I have called the HR to no avail. Thanks in advance

Why yes, I'm one of the big cheeses! After careful review of your extensive qualifications in that post, I would like to offer you a position. Can you start first thing in the morning?
P.S. I don't really work there..but I do own stock and once slept in a Holiday Inn.

I thought most engineers worked bussing tables? Must be mistaken :)
And since you're an engineer, I'll help you out:
1. Register your CV with their HR department.
2. Put your resume online at Monster.com
3. Snail-mail them your resume.
4. Don't mash the phone with your whole hand, use a finger to press specific buttons and call them (I just called their HR department with no problems at all).

Canon employees/reps have been said to lurk the site.
Maybe if you post your resume, someone will see it? lol
Good luck in getting a job there, that would be pretty cool.

one of the former Vice Presidents of Canon in north america is a good family friend. He's recently retired but I'm sure he's still got some pull with the higher ups. And no, I don't believe he reads this forum at all.
