There are many excellent threads on custom functions and flash with the Mark II at www.robgalbraith.com in the forums.

also check out http://www.siphoto.com for custom functions, they are very good guideline if you shoot a lot sport/action, of course, if you are comfortable with them.

congrats on your MK II!

Asking for settings could get you 50 replies, all different. It really comes down to what you intend to photograph with the camera and under what circumstances. Indoor, outdoor, good/bad lighting, still or moving, and so on. All need different techniques. There is no one answer.

Start your adventures with the MK-II with all settings set to default and work from there. Learn basic SLR techniques and understand what happens when you change settings such as ISO or aperture, not forgetting what impact the lens has on what you are trying to achieve. Don't be afraid to ask if you are not sure of something.
