Anyone use an off-camera flash as a separation flash when shooting formals? Please post examples and what flash setting you used if you have them?

what do you mean by separation flash? You mean like a rim light? like these in the POTN wedding meet thread?

Separation flash = back light flash
I can see in the first photo that it looks like they used some back light. I was going to try it for indoor formals the next time it might work to separate the subjects from the background.

generally don't do it for groups indoors. Otherwise you can use the sun to do the same thing.
