Workshop recommendation

I am looking for a basic/start course on studio portrait photography. I have been searching, but not finding anything yet.

I hope this is the right forum to ask... can anyone recommend a workshop/course for starting portrait photography??

I believe the best bet is your local school/college. Some classes are under $50 or so depending how much each unit they charge.

I have written to the local university and have asked for some information. Money is not much of a factor, but good instruction is.
