So my new computer has Vista on it and there are some issues. When I try to move files, sometimes it will not move them, sometimes instead of moving them it copies them, and sometimes it moves them, but leaves all the folders behind. Anyone experienced this? Any ideas? Thanks

I have Vista Business with no such issues. Have you downloaded all the updates for Vista from Windows downloads? Some issues I've had when I first got Vista got resolved with the updates.

I have Vista Ultimate...and it is flat out crap...it has never gone 24 hours without a BSOD.

I am running Vista Business with all updates. It is a really strange problem.

When you're copying files; do you have ANYTHING else open?
I've not had those problems with Vista Business I have on my work laptop (And yes; I process a lot of photos on it)
I DID however learn a lot from using a plugin on my xp box @ home. It's called unlocker. When you try to cut a file and get access denied; it will tell you what apps are still hanging on. For me it was apps I sometimes used HOURS ago.

For Woolburr; Are all your drivers up to date on your hardware? I've NOT had ONE BSOD yet in vista.

Drivers are rock solid latest and greatest. Vista does not like nvidia, Panda, Acrobat Reader 8 or Firefox....Western Digital drives, particularly MyBook units cause it to freeze....HP Officejet units refuse to work...Linksys routers are only occasionally fully functional.

Trying to delete garbage is a nightmare...got to love being logged in as administrator and being told you don't have permission to move, copy, delete or otherwise modify any files.

Wow.

I'm using Vista Business. I only use Iexplore not firefox; but do have a 500 gig world book; use adobe to read PDF's all the time and own not one but two linksys routers, a BEFsr41 and a WRT54G without a single problem so far.

I'm an administrator on my local account and I haven't yet been told I don't have permission to do anything.

Good luck.
