View Full Version : Subjected to the other side of the lens

today. I'm comfortable behind the lens - but I didn't realize just how uncomfortable I am on the other side. I had little choice - it was a shoot for an upcoming article in an industry (non-photography) magazine for a project I've been involved with.
Made me wonder - how do other photographers view having their picture taken - do you think you are more or less likely to be the subject than the general public?

I don't because there is only one person in my family that can use the camera like it should be used. I can't stand it in AUTO :x . If I do get my picture taken it is with a P&S film because the rest of the people in my family won't use digital (Don't know why)

I am not fond of getting my picture taken either. If I have to, fine. But if I can avoid it at all, I will.

I hate having my picture taken... always have. I usually try to avoid it but sometimes I remind myself that I should have my picture taken sometimes.
My usual tactic for avoiding photos is, "Oh, you should be in the picture. I can take it for you." Until my first digital cam, I must've taken more photos with other people's cameras than with my own.

You will see very very very very few pictures with my face on them.
I am very uneasy in front of the camera.
I feel it is the same as when you hear your voice on tape for the first time, you just don't think its you, or you don't like what you hear (or see).
I am not photogenic at all, so I just shy away from pictures thank you very much

I have an ugly smile, and am starting to need to get rid of a double chin when i turn my head the right way.
I belong on the radio and behind the camera, not on TV and in front of it
