I drove about 80 miles to get to the wetlands on my way to visit relatives. Stopped and stayed for about 3hrs, shot 23 species and missed the merlin, kestrals and peregrine plus many more, the place is AMAZING. Light was not good but I did get some decent shots including three species of grebes.

Very nice shots Paul. We are planning on visiting there this spring. This past weekend we spent some time at the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy and had a similar experience. What a great place.

Thanks Howler, it was great that it was saved, I'm hoping they can do the same with the ormond Beach wetlands up here in Ventura County.

I remember Bolsa Chica forty years ago when oil was bubbleing and oosing from underground and it was so toxic nothing could survive.....weve come along ways as a people in saving our wetlands.
