Jim,
Have seen quite a few of your posts by now. HAve to say that most of your pictures lack punch. There is not enough contrast and the colors are very flat. Do you post the pics straight out of the camera or do you process them? I'm sure that with a little bit of work they can look a lot better.

Yes I use photoshop but a lot of my picture I am afraid of over saturating the colors or overexposing some areas of the shot if I use to much contrast.

A quick fix with curves and levels. Also applied a little blur on the distant trees, but that seems to be too much on the second one. Too lazy to correct though :D :D :D

It's just not there. It was a good start. The color curve Henkbos made helped a lot. But lets face it. There's too much cyan, even for a morning shot. If we could have just gotten some of that fog up, it would have added more lines and interest in the background. The blob/tree in the left bugs me. Maybe just crop it out. I know its supposed to be part of the photo. Again, lift some of the fog so we can see more of it. It's close to being something. Go back and try again, you'll find it.

jim jam,
The original looks good to me. Why try to fix it when it ain't broke? :)
I believe that photo editing is useful, but to the limit where the digital image is corrected to match the real thing. Anything more is "Picasso" to me. :D :D
If you want to get creative, pehaps a good old B&W or sepia might convey the image.
