View Full Version : Making the most of it

Here are a couple random shots, where I'm basically trying to make the most of what I've got. In the first image, I intended for it to be in focus originally but didn't get to check it until I uploaded it to the computer. In the end though, I kinda like that it's not in focus. Any thoughts? As for the second image, I didn't really like the original version, as the sky was pretty blown out. So I just converted it to B&W and then inverted the colors. Does it work at all?

I find #1 rather irritating to look at because of the lack of focus. I guess that's an emotional reaction - not a good one but a reaction.
I like #2. It has the opposite feel of #1 for me. It's a crisp and clean feeling.

#1 kinda hurts my eyes. I think if it were sharp it would be better.
#2 is very nice. It reminds me of fireworks for some reason.

Guess, the whole out of focus deal is not cutting it. Thanks for the feedback, though. But I guess since it's my image, it's still okay if I enjoy it, right? :) Glad you like the second one.

Ah, the beauty of art and artists - you can enjoy it to the max and not feel the least bit guilty. And the rest of the world can just avert their eyes...

I like the first one. The light that is cast through the fence and the shadows that are made.
The second you just inverted the colour channels. Kinda boring.

They are both appealing in their own way. #2 stands out because it looks like a cloudless IR shot but the trees and walkway lack any texture that could really make it pop. Has anybody ever tried a HDR inverted picture converted to B&W?

Number 2 isn't for me, but I am drawn to number 1... It reminds me of maybe a childhood memory...? Like it
