i didnt notice them before, but while taking pictures of dark closeup objects, i noticed that my G5 always has two pink spots. i can fix them pretty easily with software but it still bugs me.
are two pixels in the sensor damaged perhaps?
can i exchange the camera, any clues?

Sounds like hot pixels?

... sounds like hot pixels to me, too. My G2 has now about 5 after 2 years of wear and tear. No big deal for me, I just clone them out in PS, if they really happen to be in a dark area (e.g. night shots)

How long did you have it before these occured?
Best regards,
Andy

about 4 months now. yeah, i read up on hot pixels, and that seems to be it, i mean they are pretty easy to fix, but i'd rather not, you know?

What length exposure do they show up in?
I've got one that's now visible in exposures as short as 1/60, which I'm not happy about at all.

Mine only show up in night shots with 5 seconds+ exposure.

With your camera being only four months old, and the spots showing up at 1/40th and 1/60th second, I think you should send it in for repairs. That's just NOT right.

yeah, i did some testing last night, basically its whats called a "stuck pixel", its pretty much there all the time. the other one only shows in long exposures.
im planning to call them up and see what can be done.

I've had my camera for more than a year, unfortuantely. Anyone know what Best Buy's PSP coverage is like for stuck pixels?
