I posted some of my photos of the U.S.S. Lexington aircraft carrier (museum ship) to my website.

My personal favorite is the first picture on page 3.

On page 4 top picture the shadow on the captain's bed is from the dumb photographer  (me) forgetting to take the lens hood off my Canon PowerShot Pro 1. The built in flash leaves a shadow if the lens hood is not removed.

Opinions and comments on the photos and the website presentation would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I like the pictures. What happened to the last one on the 3rd page? Did you take it through a glass or are those spots on your sensor?

Ovi,

The last photo on page 3:

This picture was taken through the glass windshield of the bridge deck overlooking the foward flight deck. If you check the first picture on page 3, you can see the top row of windows through which I had to take the picture. (No outside access to the public.)

So the spots are paint splatter on the outside of the glass in the bridge deck windshield.

Being a museum ship, when they paint the superstructure, they are not too particular about keeping the paint splatter off of the windows. The windows are barely clean enough to see out of, no less take photos. The captain of the ship would never allow this on a commissioned vessel.

I offered to go out and scrape the paint off with a razor blade, but they wouldn't let me. :)
