Those rumor are just a joke, none the less...back focusing, as far as i know, is when the camera/lens will focus on a subject but the true field of focus is behind where it is supose to be.
I think...

There are many fables going around, especially on Internet, about focus problems with the 10D. One of the problems that "many 10D's" are suspected to have is a front or back focusing problem, which means that the AF system isn't accurate - instead of focussing exactly on the subject, it focusses slightly in front or after the subject.
That the 20D would have a back focussing problem is just a joke. People say this because there was so much rumour about the 10D having this.
I'm sure the 20D will have its own share of Internet fables associated with it.....

Yeah, kinda' sorry I brought it up. I joined this forum last summer, and it seemed like every other thread was something dealing with the focusing problems of the 10D.
The measurbators were in their element.
The newer members probably don't get the joke---nor should they.
Sorry.

at some point there was a sticky thread in regards to this issue. That's how common it was (or seemed to be).
