I tried using Photoshop to play around with the colors and contrasts. I wanted to fix a few things, but seeing how my Photoshop skills are...rather...very, very, very limited... I couldn't do much. Heh. :D

Good shot, good colors...depth of field on the flower seems a hair too short. But it's pretty.

Welcome to this forum. As you posted your pic in Critique I assume you want critique. Well here it is.
I'm sure there must be nicer flowers around to shoot. Try to find one that is not half dead, has all it's leaves. Once you found one, pay attention to the background as well. The bucket is really distracting.
So, now you got your subject and the composition. Next is the exposure. It's always best to have the corret exposure out of the camera, instead of trying to correct in PS. In your shots the lighter areas do not contain any detail and are over exposed.
Don't want to be too harsh and I'm sure that your next one will be better.

Despite what Henk says, I like the overall effect you have created. I find the big pools of colour appealing and the tight DOF makes it look like a painting.

Gotta disagree there. I find wilting and decaying matter a matter of mood your trying yo project. There are oodles of perfect flower photos out there. it's a matter of finding something different to focus on or projecting a diffrent mood.

Here, I need to agree and is something I'm guilty of often. I'm often so tuned in to the primary subject I miss the bacground until I get home and start processing. The fact that the bucket is close to the color of the flower also pulls my eye away. If it had been blue, for instance, It might not have been as distracting.
