Al we have at our feeder are house finches and a few doves. Business has been way off the last few days.

Wish I had that excuse. We have had no business here for weeks now. I can only suspect the drought.

Looks like you have a good neighborhood watch going on there. Nice cooper's hawk - an adult with that deep red eye.

Actually they're not all that big - around the same size as a crow.

We have a Coopers that frequents our neighbourhood as well.....you can tell he's around as the rest of the birds get really quiet :)

In my neighborhood they either all get really quiet, or really loud. During the summer I could always tell when it was there, because I had bluebirds nesting in my yard, and Mr. Bluebird would just go bonkers!

Great Capture of a good looking Hawk, Many Hawks find Backyard feeders to be excellent hunting areas!!!
