Canadian suppliers would have been competitive if the canadian dollar was at 50 cents to USD.

It's 76, it's cheaper to get stuff from US.

Yes, usually, but not always.

The last batch of lenses and supplies I bought from the US cost me that same as if I bought from Camera Canada. The reason? Because for the first time ever I was charged PST! I wasnt expecting that. Usually customs only charged GST.
If I ordered from Camera Canada, I wouldnt have paid GST plus shipping is much cheaper, so when I did the tally, the totals were almost identical.

what about duty after you pay duty isnt it usally around the same if not more

Seems like you only pay the canadian tax on the lenses and cameras.

That is right. NO duty on camera lenses and cameras from US.

so what your saying is if i buy this from the US online i only pay gst and pst
