The Problem.
If I turn off the Flash, my camera has a lot of difficulty focusing. Actually, it barely focuses at all. I don't turn off the focus, just the flash. The focus beam still functions (well doesn't function, but it's on anyway). This focus problem obviously makes it difficult to compose night shots. Does anyone know how to fix the problem? Does anyone have the same problem?
I had this same problem with my older S230. I updated to the S410, but sadly realized the problem continues in this generation. CANON tech support has no clue why the camera behaves this way. Is it a hardware or software problem? This is now my 2nd S410 (the LCD screen in the first went out) and the problem persists... so its either user error or a problem with the entire line, not just a camera problem. I just found this forum yesterday, so now I ask you all.
