I had a photo with my friend Brooke on Tuesday evening and am just getting around to processing some of the images. Here is the setup I used:
Canon D60
Tamron 28-75 2.8
550EX fill flash with Lumiquest pocket bouncer with gold insert
This shot was taken outside with natural light and some fill flash.
I used the Fred Miranda B&W plug-in and used the B&W with Yellow filter at 30% intensity.

This was my 2nd photo shoot I have done with a "model" (ok, just some attractive female friends of mine) and my first with Brooke.
Thanks for looking.

Tim,
Good pose, nice subject, but I'm thinking exposure problem.
I see three separate areas of white "burn out"; on the forehead, nose and right cheek. I think it detracts from the beauty of the photo.
I'm no expert at portraits, but perhaps dropping the exposure a notch or two would help.

I tried to fix the hot spots, here is what I came up with. I also toned down her eyes a little.

Tim,
Major improvement. Good fix :!:
It looks like you posted the fixed image under the same URL as the original, so we can't see the "before and after". No problem. Just a comment.

I realized that once I got to work this morning. I didn't mean to do it, but I hadn't had enough coffee and was running late. :D
Thanks again for your comments, they have definately helped me make the picture better!

Tim,
What's the bike in your avatar and where was that taken?
I ride a Harley Davidson Road King.

Very nice bike! That is a 1999 BMW R1100RT and was taken in Monument Valley, Utah. I have since sold the bike to get my photography equipment, but have been very happy with my decision.
I have a couple of Harley riding friends, one has a Road King and loves it. It is by far my favorite Harley!
