OK, y'all are gonna have fun with this. I'm looking at several 1D's. I'm getting ready to make the commitment and I have NO IDEA about digital media; compact flash cards to be exact. I've searched this site and several others and I'm more confused than when I started. I know I need a type I or II compact flash, but I can't find any comparision between cards, will the write time slow me down, can I get by with a cheaper card, etc. I shoot mainly sports (racing) and until now I rarely do burst shots due to film costs. I'm in hopes that the 1D will give me the opportunity to do bursts since all I have to do is delete the picture if I don't like it. Will a card keep me from doing this? I think a buffer of 25 would keep me shooting, but I'm unsure. Any sugestions, thoughts, places I should look....HELP! :?:

Thanks in advance.

...nevermind. I just found Rob Garbraith's CF test (http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007). I guess this might help others with the same questions. Pick your camera and have fun with numbers.

Yes the RG database is an indespensible tool to find out what cards work best in each camera..

Glad you found it! :)
