i need some advice on how to position my lights for a silouette. i worked on it last night but it was not good? should i use softbox or umbrella? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get as much power on the background as you can, and expose for the background.

The subject should be really dark, and with a bit of PS, black. Use a softbox, snoot or barndoors so that none of the light leeks onto your subject.

i see, so i should have my light flash directly on the back ground and meter for the background. then place the subject in front and make sure that no is hitting her from the front. is that accurate/
