Ok guys, gals.... I have a problem with my Canon DC10...

Here goes...

I have no software or anything for this camera... Just the camera itself (Gift from family member who lost? threw away programs?) So I went and bought a USB cable, carger, miniSD card and USB adaper for the miniSD... Now, I video something to simply test the camera using Sony DVD-R disk (Is this the right disk?) when I take the USB and plug it in the computer "dings" like it knows there is something plugged in but, nothing happens??? Ok, so I try just taking the disk out and putting it in my DVD drive... Open the DVD drive and there is nothing there???

What gives guys??? I know there are videos on the disk I can watch them threw the camera just fine...

HELP???? thanks!! Christmas is coming and I want to tape the kiddos! :(

Unfortunately I can seem to locate the DC10 manual at the Canon site. You might be better help by check w/ a video forum. not saying you're not welcome here, but most here are photo nuts.

Ok THIS (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=361&modelid=11817) is a link to DC20 manual but I believe it's similar.

If you are using a PC, check device manager make sure there is no exclamation or questionmar flags. If there is then delete them. Then check if there you need to instal proprietory device drivers. If you do need driver see if canon has driver for it. Reconnect to see if if XP will discover the CAM. Now if you can't view your DVD on your PC tat can be because the file type mightbe proprietory, but I doubt it. Most likely the disk has not been finalized. Unfinalized disk may not play in some players.
