I've been asked to be a second photographer at a Father-Daughter dance. They want portraits of 150 couples (about 87 couples each). First the good news...I could pull down about $800 for 2-3 hours work + editing. The bad news is 87 couples in 2 hours is really herding them through like cattle. I've never tried to work this fast and am a little worried about quality.

Since you're shooting a couple, can you use center focus point with the lens stopped down to guarentee both subjects are in focus? I was thing about ISO 400, F11, 1/125, manipulate light output for exposure. Will this work? Help!

manipulate light output for exposure. Will this work? Probably, but you'd be better asking the first photog what he/she recommends?

I shoot a lot of ballroom dance. Are you shooting posed couples or action on the dance floor, as it makes quite a bit of difference. For action shots, I use a focus point just above the centre point (I shoot vertical mainly). That way it is generally focussed at chest level. I normally shoot at highish ISO (1600) and wide open, depending on the quality of light. Most evenys are normally held in gymnasiums, so the light is normally average at best.
