Good ideas.

How would it look if you cropped out the harsh street light, utility pole and burned in that little dot of bright light?

Definitely getting better. The digital age is great for the budding photographer, it allows you to take tons of photos at no added cost. it's best to hold back on this 'firepower' and go slow a bit, and think about setting each shot with regards to composition, exposure, etc. You will learn a loot that way.

Keep up the good work, looking forward to your development as a photographer.
