I am new to the digital camera world and am looking into getting a DSLR in the next 1-2 months. I have been reading up on the rumors and now the reviews of the 20d and am quite impressed. I also have used my friends 10d a couple of times . I am very impressed with the quality of the 10d but am wondering which i should get. on the one hand i am leaning towards the 20 because of the bigger MP count and faster speed. but i am hesitant because it wont have been out long by the time that i order one. Any opinions on this would be appreciated. I currently have a Elan7e that has been a great camera. I do mostly odds and end photography but would like to do more freelance work for the local papers and the price on a MkII puts it out of the equation for me.

Thanks for the responses

I wouldn't be too concerned about the 20D. It is not a radically new design, but really an evolutionary successor to the 10D. If there are any 'issues' in the earliest delivered units, chances are they can be resolved by firmware upgrades. Mechanically, it should be very solid.

Definitely get the new speedy, pixely 20D. You won't regret it. It's a very nice step up from the 10D.
