(not another 20D thread)...I lied, whats the price mean?

They are saying it'll be $1500 with no lens. The 10D sold for $1500 with no lens, what was it reported to sell for when the press release was out for the 10D?

Is the rumor of a street price of $1300 still true?

I seem to remember prices of $5000 for the MKII when in reality people were picking them up for $500 cheaper.

I know...i'm asking what those REALLY mean. This is the first time i've ever been a part of a new camera bananza. I came across the 300D because of a TV add and a computer forum. When the MKII was out i didnt care because i knew i oculdnt get it, and at the time didnt evne think i needed it.

You get to choose what package you want, as with all cameras.............
Best is to get a body and use your own lenses. In most cases the kit lenses aren't used that often after you get better lenses.

The list price for the 300D is $1000, i can go buy it for $820.

i doubt you will find it cheaper...its new, its hot, its fesh, its clean, its its its..yeah i doubt you will get it cheaper

If you want immediate gratification, then you will pay the going rate, i.e. $1500 for the body only, etc.

On the bright side, you don't need to scrounge the online dealers looking for a better price -- if one is posted, they don't have it anyway.

So, for really instant gratification, go to your local dealer, and just pick one up over the counter the first day they are available. You won't get it anywhere else for a better price, so why waste the time and energy looking?

That's how I got my Digital Rebel on the first ship day. There is a dealer in my area that always has one or two of something new, the first day it is available. He's never failed to amaze me how he gets stock on things like that. When the 1D MKII came out, he and one other store in town had the only two in the entire county.

I'll tell you who it is the day after I get my 20D. :wink:
