Who is currently taking orders on the 20D?? I called B&H and they are not as of yet! :x I know am aware that I will also have to order a new grip for the camera as the one used on the D30,D60,10D will not work as the camera or the 20D is a bit smaller in size. Looks like canon will be Griping some of this $$$$$ from most of us. How nice as if I don’t give them enough now! :P

I read elsewhere that www.onecall.com is taking orders.

As I posted in my poll earlier, I used onecall.com and they were very helpful. They knew all the information around the camera and the new line of lenses and had taken quite a few orders already when I called at 8:30am Central time. I'm number 32 on the list I believe... hopefully they get an initial batch of 33!

Wow. Canon has stated that no one will get stock on these things until mid-September.

Why lock yourself into orders with online/mail order places that may or may not ever deliver?

I think B&H has the right attitude. They know better than to be taking orders until they know how much stock they've been allocated, and approximately when it is going to arrive.

If you are in a largish metropolitan area, and have a good relationship with a local dealer that has a proven track record of getting early stock, you will do much better checking with them. You won't get a better price on line for while, so why bother?

Even though the Digital Rebel was thought to be unobtainable when it first shipped, I walked into my local well-connected dealer, and bought one of the five units he had received on first ship day, over the counter. People were wailing for weeks afterward, that whatever online site they had tried to order from was jerking them around.

I was taking pictures...

That's the other reason to use a no interest credit card. If I don't get the product, I don't pay a dime.

If it does come through, I'll not be waiting two months to get one from B&H or my local shop.

It’s déjÃ* vu all over again.

This takes me back to my childhood when everyone was going on waiting lists for the 1D Mk II.

We all learned patience, didn’t we?

how can ye guys just order like that? you havnt yet read any in-depth reviews, (because there aint any yet) or even handled the camera or anything.

talking about impulse on the spot buying purely from a spec sheet.

im not sold on this camera, its just not got enough improvements to sway me. Anyway im worried about the noise, even tho there is a "noise reducer chip" or something.....

hmmmmm, i hope ye guys are more right than wrong about this middle DSLR between the 1D MK2 and the 20D.....Please!!
