This picture was taken by my wife; we both didn't have any knowledge about the rule of thirds at that time, but she had this intuition.
Any comment will be well received as we are begginers in this wonderful world.

That's the spirit! But, I am not keen on tilted shots. In this case I had to pick up my 30 pound "tube" to get a view of your wonderful village  !
I would have preferred to see a more regular "travel snapshot" as I do not see a reasonable view of what clearly is a beautiful scene. Come to think of it -- if your wife wanted to catch all of the hillside -- you might have gone into a panorama mode and shot four images around a square, stitching them together back home. Then you probably would have wanted to spend time in Photoshp deleting the wires and other poles and possible set the BLACK level on the image's histogram.

Hey, we're all still learning!
I'm picking the pano suggestion wasn't possible due to being moved down or uphill at several feet-per-second via cable car...
(correct?)
The only useful thing I could add is take several shots, and try and be aware of what's coming up that adds or detracts from the shot.
cheers.

I too am not very fond of tilted shots... I've only seen a few which I didn't mind. Regardless though, the composition seems to work fairly well. I remember when my friend told me about the 'rule of thirds' and when I went back and looked at my photos I was surprised to find most of them followed that 'rule'. You could give that image a bit more punch by reducing the hazy look by adjusting the levels and/or the curves in PS.
A few useful (for me anyways) tutorials if you are interested

I had to look at this shot twice to realize what I didn't like about it -- I think the location you shot does not do justice to this great place ... notice the eyesores in your shot: powerlines, tourists, and dead trees ... is this really want you want to capture?

Woah! Tidal Wave!
Oh... interesting idea, but I'm not sure it works. Still, don't stop trying different things!

Wow... I think I'm falling! Nice effect! It really makes your head heavy on one side.
