Now that Canon has produced a 1.6x crop sensor with 8MPix that has the low noise equal to or better than the 10D, surely that could be used in a bigger full frame vesion to make a 21MPix sensor?
Would it therefore make sense to release a 1Ds MkII and use a 21MPix sensor as well as Digix II and E-TTL 2. Even if it is hard to move the data fast enough to go beyond 3 fps, they could surely add more RAM to allow a big buffer (maybe 12 RAW or 30 JPG?).
I don't have the money to buy this camera, but it occurs to me that the technology is there to make some rather significant improvements to the Camera that is still the best full frame digital available.
Maybe this camera could be the big story next February?
