worth having in case you come across something newsworthy or otherwise worth recording - the one camera you will always have with you.

Hiya Toby,
Well this sure aint my best by a mile with my knackered old 1mp phone but as luck would have it I shot this slow worm baskin in the sun this morning.
Typical eh I didn't have the 400D with me :rolleyes::lol: maybe I sneak back later on & see if it's still around

wow some good shots there with the mobile... Are you downloading after onto the pc and ps them? :)
download via USB cable into Photoshop and resize - havent seen much need to do any other processing so far.

that might be tough for any mobile with the contrasty shade/sun. Just be glad you've got a record, i've never seen one.

your phone handled that pretty well, tricky lighting. D600 is an elegant design.

I agree about having one for the record though :D, all the times I've found em along with Adders & Lizards & never had a camera with me, got this beggar though :lol:

Thanks Toby, I don't use the phone camera that much but I took a real close up and was surprised how well it came out, Just can't find what I did with the shot :lol: I have to take another real close up and post it.

I didn't know you worked at Kew Toby, we had Dr Peter Brandham who used to work at Kew, (man he knew his stuff) at our camera club the other day. Have you heard of him?

no, probably before my time. There is of course an in house photography unit which is managed by an ex photojournalist, Hugh Alexander.

Oh you mean Kew Gardens - I work at the National Archives - close enough to enjoy lunch in the Gardens sometimes and get in for free.
