I have copied a bunch of CRW & CR2 files from my laptop to my desktop. If I open the folder in breezebrowser I can see the files with no problem. I have C1 LE v1.2 and C1 SE v3.5.1 and it can find any JPG files there but for reasons beyond my meagre brain matter I can't get it to read the RAW files. Anyone have any suggestions.

How did you copy the files from your laptop to your desktop?
What are you doing exactly in C1 to try and open them? Did you try "File / Open File Browser" and navigate to the directory with the files in the browser?
Can you see the thumbnails or not in C1?
Do you get an error message, if so, what is the message?

Did you also copy the *.THM files?

I copied the CRW and THM files from the laptop to desktop. I can see them there in explorer. I can open and convert using breezebrowser.
I'm not going to waste a great deal of time on this it was just real odd. I'll use breezebrowser to convert this time.

As much as I have recently come to enjoy and rely on the vaunted C1 workflow, the program really is quirky and, at times, indeciperhable with all the version changes and idiosyncracies as you move from one version to the next.
I'm a novice with C1 - but I do wonder whether your laptop is having a problem with the installation of the old C1 LE and the new C1 SE 3.5.1? Like you said, may not be worth to time to sort out - but it will probably haunt you. :x
