Thanks all for the responses to my 1st post. It wasn’t very painful at all.
The one question I didn’t get an answer for is about the Canon leather case for the G5.
Can anyone tell me if they feel it is a worthwhile investment to protect my camera? I had the leather case for the G2 and thought it was well designed and very useful. But I heard that the LCD can’t be used with the case on the G5.
Any input is appreciated.

The reason nobody answered is probably nobody has it (its not a common thing to have). I think you're better off to a retail store that carries it, and try it on the spot to see if that works for you.

Just my suggestion 8)

Thanks, But we live in Fargo ND USA ( Yes like the Movie) we are lucky to have a Walmart. Seriously anything camera wise needs to be online thats one of the reasons these forums are so important.
Thanks again for any input

Hi Rocknitz, The last leather case I had is still on my old Yashica rangefinder. I have not since pursued this type of case for any of my cameras since then because it seemed the front cover was always on when a photo Op arose, and by the time the front cover was removed, the Photo Op was gone. A lot of the old time photographers lovingly/jokingly called them "Never ready" cases. I'd recommend a good Lowepro shoulder bag with a camera strap. As I implied though, I have no experience with the case you describe for the "G's".
