PacAce, a.k.a. Leo, the moderator who maintains sanity in the flash forum, inventor of the Delux Bowl-a-tron Duo Diffuser (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3929628&postcount=49), author of some great instructional threads on wireless E-TTL and Osprey shooter extraordinaire, has been absent for three weeks now.
Word has it he hurt his back and can't sit to use a computer. :(
So this is the official Get Well card for Leo. Post your sentiments in this thread. After a few days, the "powers that be" have promised to print it out and snail-mail it to him so he can read it.
We need him back soon, because he's usually the person who corrects me when I screw up. Besides I kinda miss the old fart.
Sign his get well card here, and hopefully we can brighten his day.
Come back soon, Leo!
I hired a harpist to play some soothing music for you.

So, that's why you haven't answered my last e-mail................
Will call tomorrow.
You'll be lucky if I don't stop by with <gasp> our outspoken mutual friend.
For those of you who have met Leo in person, this is not news, but for those of you who have not, I will say this is one of the most genuinely kind people that I have ever known.
He's generous with his time, patient, and although brilliant and talented is never boastful or flashy.
Of those you would wish to get well, he's at the top of the list in my book.

WOW!!!
I'm speechless! I don't know what to say other than thanks for all your concerns and well wishes (especially to you, Curtis for starting this thread). I'm truly touched.
Sam called me this morning as did Tom (Belmondo) a couple of minutes ago to see how I was doing and to also let me know that I was missed here.
Yeah, back aches can be a real pain!! And it's no fun surfing the net lying on my side. :| Early last month, I hurt my upper back dragging two garbage bins packed full of newly cut grass clipping from the back yard to the front curb and that put me out for a couple of weeks. Then, when I thought I was healed, I went and hurt my lower back. Bummer! Fortunately, my back injuries were muscular in nature and nothing that required any type of surgery.
The good news is that the back's much better now and I'll be getting back into the full swing of the POTN grind before not too long. :)
Thank you all again for your well wishes!

Glad to see you back Leo. I've hurt my back and had to deal with injuries involving the sciadic nerve and it's no fun at all!!
Take care of yourself and don't strain anything.
Curtis N
13th of November 2007 (Tue), 17:29
Well Leo, I guess I can call FEMA and call off the search and rescue team, now that you've been located.
I'm glad you're on the mend and not suffering something more serious. But you can't just disappear without people worrying about you. Next time I expect you'll fill out an official Leave of Absence request before going AWOL on us.
Now you have some work to catch up on. I have posted 436 posts since your last appearance and you need to go through them and correct my mistakes.
Follow doctor's orders of course, but hurry back to the flash forum as soon as you can. It's too much work chasing the trolls out of there by myself!
;)

Thanks again for your concern, folks. I'll be popping in and out of here for the next week or so but this time it's only because things are a little hectic at work.
And NO, there's no truth to the humors going around that I switched over to the dark side in anticipation of the soon-to-be-released (or so they say) Nikon D3.

I know you know him; the kick was on the phone. ;)
However, I did have to talk him out of the Nikon. He ended up with some Nikkor glass and an adapter. I think he hit his head doing back recovery exercises.
