I've been up for 40 hours without a wink of sleep.

I have seen two cubs games, and a bears game.

I have attended and photographed one football game

I had a family emergency in which i had to call the rescuse squad to pick up my phsycotic brother

I've worked one shift at work

I spent a few hours with my girlfriend.

And spent the last 8 hours with my friends on this the last offical day of summer as tomorrow (as, it is now sunday here) monday i beging class at college.

My head feels heavy, my fingers are numb...and i'm ready to go to bed.

Tim,

I can tell you are REALLY tired. We still have another month of summer (officially that is). I do realize that to college students, summer is over when you have to start going to class though. I felt that way anyways. Where are you going to college? Just asking because I live in northern Illinois too.

I also hope your brother is okay.

community college for now.

I never took the time to look into a university, and this is only costing me $400 for my first semester.

I guess that means i shouldnt wait on looking for a transfer school though...bahh, i'll do it tomorrow

Reminds me of Finals week in college working on my final animation project.
74hrs straight. No shower no sleep lots of mountain dew and a very smelly computer lab. Sad thing is that there were 4 more people that stayed up longer than me.

Get some sleep timmy before you start hallucinating.
At least you had an eventfull time tho

For most public universities that is a $1000 saving per semester. That savings can by you that 20D.

I was thinking the same. Finals week, term project due in the morning. There were 8 weeks to work on it, I started 2 days before, worked on it until 3 in the morning, and woke up at 5 to finish it, and presented it at 8... that was the best project I ever did. Got an A for that class.

40 hours is a long time. At least we're young.

Going for my master's degree in computer science, one summer I had to learn 6 computer languages in 5 weeks and program the assignments that were given out... on the fly as I was learning them. Up at 5 a.m. and got to bed at 1-2 a.m. It sucked! That was on top of the second class I had to take during the summer. Did this type of work for 5 summers. YUK!!

I'm glad I'm all done w/ school.

While getting my master's degree in the US (full time student) I was amazed at how many full time employees can take classes part time. On top of that, most were married. Amazing.

A lot of corporations these days have tuition reimbursment programs (and others like my "Summer On Campus" programs) which help employees gain added education. This helps both the company and the individual. It's a win-win situation as long as the company has funds for that type of benefit. It's been around for quite a long time.

Hi Danny Boy

Wasn't referring to the financial side of it, but the time and effort these guys put up. How can they manage all that is beyond me.

aam1234,

Good point. I didn't get that from your post. I know of people who go to night school and I don't know how they do it. Life is tough enough day-to-day with work and home and then school is put on top of that.

ummm.... I have a full time job, and I am a junior in college (night classes) sometimes I get really tired, but also I find it relaxing at times.

cmM is an example of what i'm talking about. If i'm not wrong, he is still a single guy (like me). Imagine being married with 3 young kids and still do all that (work, school, and family)

cmM,

Good for you and keeping up a job and school at the same time. I'm sure it is tough at times but I'm sure it will pay off. I'm a big supporter of education and I am going to support that w/ my kids.

That is the only way they will be able to pay for the future L lenses I plan to buy when I'm really old.

Do you think the L lenses would be still called L when your kids grow up. Me think, by that time they are called X

cmM

yes, I'm single. I don't have much time left outside of school and work, so a familiy would be totally out of question at this point. It would be near impossible.

Another hijacking of this thread,

cmM, how did you manage to take those Da Bears photos. Were you in their training camp. Can you tell us about them a bit.

Thanks

Yes, I was at their training camp.
Here's the thread:

There's not much to tell... I went down there to take some shots of these guys training, filled a couple CF cards, enjoyed the area a little bit, and then came home. It was great.
