I need your thoughts on the following pictures, here I used a Vivatar 35mm. 50mm lens l.
Using my new SLR rebel 350D - How do I shoot same shots. Bright sun, action.

get some decent pictures and play around in photoshop is about all I can tell you.

you would want t stay away from too bright of sun because the sun will burn out a lot of detail on images. morning time or later afternoon i would say.
maybe tv mode would be fine. chose a shutter speed, and iso and see from there. the good thing about digital is that you can look at it, and practice over and over again. you dont have to develp the film to find out where you were going wrong. ;)

These pictures were taken in 1977 using a Vivatar 35mm, These are some of my 1st pictures ever using a 35 mmm, I was proud of these, but my quetsion thanks shanny , is with slr digital they do act different that a true 35mm. This i am finding out.

I have not done a side-by-side comparison (though it has interested me now) but I do have enough experience and confidence to tell you that f/8 @1/125" using ISO 100 is the same regardless what tool you use. This is, afterall, why we have standards.
The only variable you should be seeing would be in the film emulsions as they can vary from one to another and, for that reason, vary from the digital capture as well.
Bottom line: Rules for exposure and composition do not change. Oh, maybe one. I always heard "expose for the highlights" when shooting film and nowadays I beleive they stress to expose for the shadows.
