I have a D30 less than a year old (I think) and I have already corrupted two SanDisk CF cards with it, one 128meg and an ultra 256meg. I shoot pretty quickly and wonder if that is what could be causing the problem? or could it be that my canon needs to be serviced? its actually huge inconvience since everytime I corrupt a card, I have to pray that photorescue can recover most of the images, and that SanDisk is prompt in replacing the card for me. Could it just be that SanDisk isnt the "superior" quality CF card? It says in their warranty they should only be used for consumer end-use, never commercial use (which I'm using it for). I guess thats just so I can't sue them if I lose images huh? well, does anyone know of a professional use CF card? one that is designed for heavy use and quick shooting? Thanks..

Aiden,
One reason that the Ultra cards are so fast is that apparently there is no write verification, so they _are_ riskier to use.
This article http://www.dpreview.com/articles/mediacompare/ has useful information about the performance of different CF cards. On the D30, the IBM 1gig MD would seem to be the best performer on price-performance.

Thank you so much for the response, I did not know that about the ultra card. I'm a dummy for not looking into it first before using it in a business environment.
I'll check out that site. I was thinking about getting the MD the other day..but then thought well if CF cards have this many problems, the MD's probably have even more problems, since they contain moving parts. :/

For what it is worth I use a brand of CF that is called PNY and I have not had any problems.

Heh. How ironic, I have a 128 PNY card sitting here infront of me... corrupt. :( Maybe its just my bad luck.. but I can't say its my D30, because this chip was corrupted in my G1.
