I could like #1, but wish something was happening in the sky & that the contrast range was broader. Do you have PShop or GIMP?

Yes I do have photoshop 7.0 photosguy.Iusually just work on the basic improvements levels curves contrast saturation etc.I do play around with filters a bit but find myself going back to the original picture more often than not.

My personal preferance is the second shot. It gives the impresison of an island of trees in a sea of mist. (more mist next time please :D )

The barbed wire detracts from the overall scene in the first shot. Just my opinion.

Beautiful Image ... I feel that a crop is necessary.

I'm a sucker for fog pictures - and I like the contrast with the barbed wire - If only there was a bit more light in the fore ground...

A little fill flash on the wire might have worked, or a perspective that wasn't looking so directly into the sunrise might have helped.

Great idea, but a bit to much contrast to really pull it off IMO...

I like the ground in #1, but the sky is a bit plain and bright.

Leighow, your edit with the frame and texts seems to kill the photo for me. The cropping is good though.
